Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.
Through it all, there's been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he's ever had to fight for.
thoughts on Remy
When I read "the other point of view" I don't expect to be surprised and usually flip through to specific scenes where I'm curious to know what HE thought. Boom, done in an hour.
Reading Remy is almost like reading a whole new story. The story picks up in the future on Remy and Brooke's wedding day and each chapter alternates between the past and futures as Remy waits for Brooke. It sounds like it would be confusing but Katy Evans blends the two seamlessly.
All of the past is what we already know from Mine and Real but reading Remy's take on it is like reading a whole new story. I've never read a character that thinks like Remington Tate. He's a man of few words and don't let that fool you, the thoughts racing through his head are all over the place and yet focused at the same time.
The first time he sees Brooke in the crowd it's really game on. Everything from that point on is Brooke-centric. Remy seems like such an enigma from Brooke's point of view but really Remy is showing her his love instead. And not just in the bedroom either. Remy is just as hot and probably even hotter since we're seeing everything through Remy's eyes. I thought maybe Brooke fawned a little too much over Remy but really he's just as obsessed with her as she is with him.
Katy Evans has created a memorable, stand up character in Remington Tate and I am for one, sad to see his story end. Remy is a heartbreaking and exhilarating story from beginning to end and Remy loves will not be disappointed.
