It's time again for the Literary Junkies link-up for May!
What is Literary Junkies? It's the creation of Taylor and Lesley to bring together bookworms from around the blog world.
This month's questions are...
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it.
I'm almost done with Beautiful Stranger. I've always loved a story about a woman who changes her life around and a guy who falls and falls hard. I didn't think another character could rival Bennett Ryan but Max Stella gives him a good run for his money.
2) Summer is just ahead and my fav thing to fantasize is laying in a hammock with a good book. What are your top 3 fav "summer" reads?
When I'm between books or if I just finished a heavy story I always like to go back to one of my favorite series to decompress. It's like cleansing your palette in a way. Reading about Eve and Roarke or one of the Brothers is always a pick-me up.
4) What book do you wish they'd make it a movie of?
I'm kind of cheating on this question because the book has already been optioned to a movie (and even has a website!) but I'm looking forward to seeing Beautiful Bastard on the big screen. Way more that 50 Shades.
5) Has your favorite author published a book lately or going to publish a book soon? Tell us about it. One of my absolute favorite authors is Julie James and she just released the latest installment of her F.B.I./Attorney Series, Love Irresistibly, last month. The book centers around U.S. Attorney Cade and general counsel of a restaurant company Brooke and how they fall in love while trying to take down a corrupt Senator. There was one very, very late night involved as well as the ignoring of a few household chores while I read this book. I think it was the best one yet.
Now onto this month's book selection...Diamond in the Rough: A Memoir. I didn't read this month's book choice but from the Amazon and Good Reads reviews say it seems to be a fairly solid memoir. Memoirs aren't my favorite genre to read honestly. I've read a few in the past but I have so many books on my to-be-read pile that I just couldn't get into it.
I am pretty excited for next months book choice, The Silver Linings Playbook. I read it a few months ago before I saw the movie and I loved it! I'm going reread it again because really, it's that great of a book.
