{ children's book week - childrens games and printables and giveaway }

Kid Lit Giveaway Hop Sign-Ups

This week is Children's Book Week and I'm celebrating with Youth Literature Reviews and Mother Daughter Book Reviews and lots of wonderful other bloggers to bring you some wonderful prizes and children's resources.

My children are very in touch with the digital side of books.  They've been going online and playing games about their favorite television shows for several years and it's only been in the last few years that their favorite books have been making a bigger splash in the online world.

To celebrate Children's Book Week I've rounded up my three favorite publishing websites and all the educational and fun offerings that they have for many of my children's favorite series.

Penguin Young Readers is the home of two of my favorite book series Llama Llama and Ladybug Girl and wonderful authors like Eric Carle and Jan Brett. Their children's area has sections devoted the more popular series and several links to fun printables and games.  You can even find a link to a free Mad Libs app!

You can spend hours on Harper Collins Kids exploring all the games and printables.  It's home to an eclectic group of books like Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious and the If You Give A Mouse Series.  I love the e-card making site where kids can make holiday or special occasion cards starring their favorite characters.

Random House Kids has the best jam-packed site for kids.  They are home to my daughter's favorite series, Junie B. Jones, as well as The Cat in the Hat, Barbie, Disney, Magic Tree House and If you Give a...series.  And that's just for starters.  Harper Collins has the best printables like a Junie B. Summer Survival Guide and Richard Scarry Activity Booklet.  There are other activities like coloring pages and games that are separated in easy and hard levels.

And to celebrate Children's Book Week I'm giving away a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to one lucky reader. Giveaway is open to all United States residents.

  2. Noah's school recently sent home login information for a few different sites so he could read books online. He loves it! I've recently been able to get him to check out cute books like some of the ones you have listed. We went through a period where books like those were for babies. He only wanted easy reader books...mostly about Star Wars. I'm glad we can read them together again =)

  7. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is such a classic. My kids and I really enjoyed that one. I'm in Canada, so I won't be entering, but I'm happy to tweet about it.
