{ best earth day books for children }

Earth Day is this coming Monday and my children's school has been planning activities for awhile.  Our school has been recognized as a "Green School" for a few years now and the kids take great pride in their efforts.  Part of the Earth Day events in my kindergartner's classroom will be planting a tree, recycling bottles and a reading center.

I've complied a list of some of the books that we will be reading will be in class and at home that are centered on Earth Day specifically and others are about the Earth in general.  Does your school celebrate Earth Day?  Do you do anything special at home?

You can learn more about Earth Day here and Tip Junkie has so many great ideas and even recipes that center around children here.

  3. Oh, we just loved The Lorax! I keep seeing The Earth Book pop up everywhere too. I'm sure the big, bold colours have something to do with keeping it memorable. Thanks so much for linking into the Kid Lit Blog Hop. It's nice to see you there again! :)
