{ the simple things }

The rain finally let up enough for us to make it to the pumpkin patch.  It's rained almost every day for the last two weeks.  I'm up to my ears in rain and umbrellas and wet clothes.  And the mud, don't get me started on the mud.  Or the fact that the new puppy does not like to go outside in the rain.  Anyway...

We made it out this weekend and walked up and down the rows trying to find the best pumpkins.  We already have several that we grew in the garden this year but it's really not fall to me unless we hit the patch.  I may also be influenced by the apple cinnamon donuts in the bakery as well.  Who knows...

Everyone likes picking pumpkins and carrying them home but no one else likes to clean the pumpkins.  It's yucky... is all I heard.  The explanation that it's just like playing with Goo fell on deaf ears so that left me to clean out three pumpkins and carve them as well.  I also made the new rule that whoever cleans it out also get creative control over what it looks like too.

So yeah, we have...
George

Harriet

Pierre

I also made the rule that the cleaner get to name them too.  Maybe next year they won't be so yucky.
