{ 31 days of books - good reads }

What is good reads?  The website says:

          Goodreads is a free website for book lovers. Imagine it as a large library that you can wader through and see everyone's bookshelves, their reviews, and their ratings. You can also post your own reviews and catalog what you have read, are currently reading, and plan to read in the future. Don’t stop there – join a discussion group, start a book club, contact an author, and even post your own writing.

I am a big fan of the good reads website.  Anyone can sign up, you can even register through your Facebook and Twitter accounts.  They make it that easy.

One of my favorite parts is creating my own shelves.  I love how easy it is to keep track of what I've read and what I want to read.  I can also create bookshelves for specific categories like alpha heroes, suspense or by author.

But the neatest thing- is reading other readers reviews.  You can add a review of any book and it's there for others to read just like Amazon.  If I'm interested in a book but I'm on the fence about reading it the first thing  I do is check the reviews for it on good reads.  The reviewers there are blunt and truthful.  Many of them don't beat around the bush and tell you it was okay or just fine.  They tell you exactly what was good and what wasn't.  Sometimes I buy the book, sometimes I don't but I'm pretty sure it's saved me some money over the years.

You can "friend" other reads as well.  This will let you follow their status', reviews and what they are reading.  It's kinda like Facebook in that way.  I subscribe to several reviewers that read the same books as I do so I can see what's good lately and what I might want to avoid.

For readers who like to get involved there are is also a book club feature on the site as well.  There are clubs for all genres, authors. series, role playing, you name it.

So please join me on good reads if you'd like.  I'd love to be your friend!  Check out my read shelf below.
