{ let's get physical }

Did I succeed?  Yes and no.  On Friday I came down with the worst sinus infection/head cold/sore throat and it put me down.  I don't get sick often, it's all about the quality when I'm sick, not the quantity.  

To recap my goals from last week...

To work out at least 3 days a week & take a walk/play outside on the other days.
I did accomplish this!  Minus the three days I was at my sickiest I did get in a Zumba class at home each day.  I have the dvd for Wii and have been using that.  There is no gym in my local area so anything I want to do has to be at home for the most part.

To work out a meal plan that's a healthier version of the kids' favorite foods.
I call this one 50/50.  I did manage to make up the meal plan for the next few weeks but I have not executed it.  I haven't even bought any of the different foods on it.  I go grocery shopping at Meijer's one a week and this past trip the husband did while I was sick.  I'm lucky he bought lettuce.

Drink at least 5 glasses of water a day.   
Kind of a fail.  Some days I did, some days I didn't.  I have learned about myself that I'm more apt to drink water from a bottle that a glass.  I don't know what that says about me but I've added bottled water to my menu plan grocery list. 

New goals...
Use My Fitness Pal everyday
Start taking vitamins
Choose a muscle toning routine

I've also been doing a lot of healthy reading and started a Pin Board for all of my favorite articles and recipes.

  1. Good luck! I've found that drinking tea helps get me to drink more water!

  2. Any step in the right direction is progress. Keep going. Buying bottled water is probably just going to be a waste of money. Get a refillable bottle, and every time you empty it, go refill it and drink some more. I always thought I drank enough but my doctor told me to drink a small glass of water every hour. That being said, you can sip throughout the day, or down that glass at once on the hour. Hopefully you can work it into routine. My sister's gym website has a link to '40 Road Tip Workouts' that should be easy to do just about anywhere. Their FB page has positive articles too.

  3. Love your weekly check in! I contemplated making Ket's Get Physical a weekly thing but I wasn't sure if it would be too much. But I think checking in with your goals weekly is a smartest way to keep on track! Sorry you got sick my friend, I know that can derail an ENTIRE fitness journey. And I find that I drink water best out of a tumbler (the plastic ones with the straw) because for some reason the straw just makes me more inclined to drink? Anyhoot, great job!
